Pretty sure he played a Fender Toronado for Shelter, plays it live a lot too, and if you're like wtf is a Toronado, you're probably not alone. When I saw them years ago he was playing a Marshall, likely a JCM, and a few common reverb pedals and delays, I'm pretty sure he uses the Hall of Fame. His setup isn't that crazy for the most part

For a guy with a single amp and a pirated version of Guitar Rig 5 it sure seems crazy.

Just relistened to Sapphire. That tone to me sounds like a driven clean. Look into using a Fender Twin or Fender Deluxe amp clone for the cleans if they have that on Guitar Rig. In the chain put an overdrive first, then delay (when needed), then reverb. Dial the overdrive to taste, but he doesn't use much distortion at all. It's a pretty crunchy clean.

Thanks for the breakdown, Dungeon! The "crunchy clean" is what I noticed too and was difficult to dial in on my admittedly pathetic Vypyr amp. Some of that has to do with the amount of post-gain. Take a chunk of that away and it hollows out the sound. Plus there's no reverb effect on my amp, just a slight delay effect that warbles a bit too much.

I'm sure all of those virtual amps are available in GR5. Unfortunately I upgraded from a 2012 MBP to a custom built Windows desktop and so all of my Logic presets and sounds are stuck on an external SSD unless I want to create an Apple OS partition. Plus there are like zero DAWs on Windows that can compete with what Logic offered.

I'm a big fan of kodama, and seeing this album surpass it in average has me rubbing my eyes. Gotta give this a spin!

Cant really judge this early on with averages, they always come down over time.

Slapping a 4 on this for now, I’ve jammed it a lot hoping it would grow higher than that, but so far that hasn’t happened, it’s just really really good.

Worst thing this band has done by a long shot. Y'all are jizzing over the Alcest name but in reality this is a snoozefest.
