This is Evil AF, can't imagine what it would've sounded to the original 1985 folks who heard this for the first time...
Reign in Blood is still the masterpiece, but this certainly shows the brilliant direction they were heading towards.

idk I'd never expect RiB to sound like it sounds if I'd listened to this in 1985. songs here were really progressive and dark, while on RiB they said "fuck it, let's just play as fast as we can for 30 minutes" and it turned out brilliant too. then again, this was an even bigger leap from SNM in terms of songwriting and style overall.
