I think if the albums arrived the other way around I think people would be more ready for 'the closest to a pop album Slowdive will ever make' aka the previous album
I like this one too though, more '90s production vibe, little nods to 'Pygmalion' and 'Souvlaki' in there.

Partially bc Shanty is the only song that really commits to old school gain in its gaze, beautiful combo of tones right there

the thing with the album, i guess, is that is a really nice and pleasant swirl of gaziness, but at the end of it, there isn't anything truly memorable about it, it sucked me into its sound but then left me feeling a bit empty about it?
