SOAD seems to be one of a handful of bands on this website whose discography is so distinctly divisive.
You're either a SOAD fan from start to finish or you're the type of fan who draws the line at Toxicity. Not saying either one is wrong or right but it seems to be the prevailing opinion among some SOAD fans that the band jumped the shark once the double album released.
But, like, I'm listening to Question! right this second and it is such an incredible song. Better than a lot (A LOT) of their earlier stuff.

Nah, STA tops Toxicity for me. And their selfie is easily the best. Some days I think Mezmerize is a better album than Toxicity. The prime cuts on Toxicity are better, but people overlook the filler on that album.

Which tracks are filler on toxicity? Only one i feel like that for is bounce. Everything else rules

Saying Toxicity has filler is like saying you don't like the marbling on a good cut of wagyu

I guess it’s mostly Bounce, Jet Pilot, and X. Shimmy and Psycho kind of have diminishing returns, but they’re alright. I think having those three tracks so close on the track list makes the listening kind of bumpy.

X is awesome. Love the inverted blast beat he does in that one. Plus, it's like a minute long anyway lol. Jet pilot i love too idk lol

I agree psycho is a weaker track though

I can forgive X and Bounce for being filler since they're less than 2 minutes. I can't vibe with Jet Pilot being considered filler though.

Yeah. It’s fair. Idk. I just kind of feel like some Toxicity tracks clearly baked a bit longer than others.

I don’t get it. I thought Jet Pilot was mid on first listen as like… a teenager. Don’t see what people see in that track.

I mean I can see how you'd find it mid. It's one of the more nonsense songs Serj wrote (at least I don't "get it").
But when I think of filler tracks, I think of tracks on albums that I can't immediately recall because they're a lesser-than version of a better song. On Toxicity, I could definitely see how X or Shimmy could be filler since they don't have the same "a-ha!" recognition that Jet Pilot, Deer Dance, Aerials, or Science have.
You ask me, "How does X/Shimmy go?" and I probably couldn't recall it immediately because they don't stand out individually; but, they still provide flavor to the album as a whole.

People just don't like Daron's voice, which is understandable, but I don't find it any more annoying than Serj's. IMO Toxicity is overrated and s/t and Mezmerize are both better. Hypnotize has been growing on me, but I'll never not hate Lonely Day.

Lonely Day is insufferable but I also get it at the same time. At least I think it came from a genuine place?

jet pilot is one of their best songs imo the verses are so fucking smooth, the loud just to be loud chorus is awesome and the outro is epic af
