Something is definitely wrong with Ahren and I'm worried about him. I don't mean to intrude on his personal life, but he broke up with his longtime gf, and now he's completely out of Amity without so much as a statement from Joel or the band directly. This whole situation is rubbing me the wrong way, and Ahren's cryptic replies about everything make it even more strange.
Drugs and alcohol are a bitch man, really hope he gets the help he needs.

I feel my theory guess is kinda right and the band is just not indulging in his snipes at the band/joel and leaving him to get it out of his system. I do hope he gets the help he needs though

statement from the band:
"We are aware our fans have been waiting for us to comment on the situation between Ahren and the band.
This will be our only statement.
We have been choosing to stay silent until now, as we wanted to handle this privately with respect to all involved. Unfortunately, it has become clear to us that this is no longer possible and we owe it to you, our fans, to comment.
Ahren will no longer be touring or recording with The Amity Affliction.
We acknowledge that we have all had our fair share of issues over the years. But sadly, over time the relationship between Ahren and the band has completely broken down while he has been dealing with challenging elements of his personal life.
The band have had to cancel tours and pass on many opportunities in hopes of supporting Ahren, but moving forward we find it impossible to continue to tolerate certain behaviours that have been directed at ourselves and those close to us. Ahren has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he does not enjoy or want to continue touring.
We still have a lot to give as a band and we’re excited to continue touring and sharing new music with you. We also understand that we need to prove ourselves to you all, and thank you for sticking with us.
The music we’ve created with Ahren will forever bind us and we are thankful for the good times we had together. We wish Ahren all the best in his personal and professional future.
We look forward to seeing you all on tour.
Joel, Dan and Joe"

"Ahren has made it very clear on numerous occasions that he does not enjoy or want to continue touring."
It sucks that touring is the main way (along with merch sales) that bands make money, or else they'd probably be able to continue with Ahren. I would have to imagine that most fans of this band would prefer to have Ahren continue in the band at the cost of never being able to see them live, over knowing that the band will likely never record music with him again just because his personal struggles prevent him from wanting to tour.

that is a pretty bold assumption to think the majority of people would be okay with them never touring ever again at the cost of ahren staying in the band lol, and its not really a great ultimatum to place on the other three members of the band since that would do nothing but stifle their growth. sounds like even if that was an accepted norm things just arent amicable between them anyway

I feel like it's not. Do people really value having the chance to see the bands they like live that highly, when the main way we listen to music in our daily lives is via recorded music?

uh fucking obviously they value having the chance to see the bands they like live? lmao how is that a question

Some people have other stuff going on in their lives, and going to shows isn't a priority, or even an interest - but obviously for others, going to live shows is very important, I get that.

its just weird to reduce it as a thing "most people" arent interested in when very clearly there is ample demand for artists to be on the road as well as it being both the artists and fans biggest tap into the communal experience of being a music fan

Ahren has been acting like a deranged ex girlfriend lately
Good riddance honestly. Really sad to say that, because the dude literally started the band. But his behavior towards his bandmates and those who have been trying to help him has been unacceptable.

Ahrens vocals live have always been the weak spot of the band so let’s hope they can fix that.
