This is surprisingly kinda growing on me. Tracks 1, 3, 5 and 7 are really nice. Unlikely to ever reach their 2005 - 2017 run, but I'm glad to be getting more out of this than I thought on my first listen.

If I’m being honest too I’m not even a National super fan or anything or even listen to them that much. But Boxer and Trouble Will Find Me hit the spot. And HV is their pinnacle for me. I do respect the hell out of them for usually pushing against the grain.

Initially, i wasn’t a big fan of their debut, but damned thing eventually grew on me a LOT, especially mixed in a shuffle with the rest of their discog. So, I’d definitely put this as their weakest. Though, i wonder if there’s a moment or time of day that would make this click for me more. Probably day tripping or something, if anything
