“first tracks has undeniable TSY/Arbiter vibes, a couple other songs I hear it in the drumming“

First track guitars reminds me more of a-types than anything. Then the vocals come in and make me sad. Don’t hear any delicious Adam Morgan-esque drum licks at all, I was excited when you mentioned that and I went back and gave the album another try based on that alone and just didn’t hear it

no come back /:

i'll tell u why i don't think this is as good as other people do: each song on the demo had a distinct personality, wasn't as overly produced, and varied in sound

here, it's just too easy to lump it up as a deftones cover band and call it a day. a shame, honestly.

Does this rock and groove like fuck or is it that downbeat, limp, toneless shite?

mix of both tbh. if u heard the "softer" tracks on vein's last album, this is basically an entire album of that with fem vox

I’ll be interested to hear what these guys do next, I think there’s a lot of potential here. Just gotta do something with those abysmal cleans

@relinquished ty bb, I’m not here to hurt feelings, just genuinely enjoy dissecting music and talking about it

Turnover hasn’t put out anything memorable since perpetual motion tbh

Serious question for you anti-hype crew and duck stans alike:

Would anyone give a shit about this band if it wasn’t vein-adjacent? I’m gonna say hard no

same can be asked about turnover lol. if peripheral vision didn't exist would people still rip their music to shreds?

They’re from my area so they’ve been putting out pretty solid pop punk/emo/indie/whatever for years now. Well up until after perpetual motion

It definitely helped to get my attention initially to check this band out, but this on its own is solid. Still definitely would want the members to focus on Vein though. I could see this being a one LP kind of band/project.
