"Haven't met any rap fan that isn't into Kendrick, unless they're 90's rap purists" never talk to any zoomer ever

Probably an unpopular opinion, but both Damn and this are such steps down from Butterfly for me. If this was pared down to the highlights with the best from Damn, it'd be a 7-8 out of 10 for me. Something like Die Hard, Love, Purple Hearts, XXX, Count Me Out, Crown, Silent Hill, Savior, Fear, and Mother I Sober.

I don't think it's an unpopular opinion to say these two aren't nearly on the same level lol

that being said all of his albums were extremely hit or miss for me, even when the highlights were as good as they were on TPAB

I'm more into a middle ground. While I prefer Butterfly and good kid over this and Damn I don't think they're that inferior either. However, while Butterfly and good kid are excellent for me, they aren't masterpieces either imo

"is Kendrick not popular among zoomers anymore?"

They're listening to people like Yeat, Carti, Youngboy, Slayworld, Ken Carson etc.

Some artists just transcend age groups. Like would it be weird to hear a kid say they like Pink Floyd's another brick in the wall?

"Yeah, Kendrick is more a millennial rapper" i had a similar thought earlier, though i would say he is THE millennial rapper, just as Nas, Biggie, and Pac were to gen X. Kendrick stands alone for this generation tho, imo.

"is Kendrick not popular among zoomers anymore?" not the ones i interact with, no. if they get the aux it's usually carti, darkie, uzi, suicideboys, what have u. they don't even know who king los is and we live in fucking md lmao
