this album is so much better without the intro and interludes. i hate them so so so much
they were definitely going for a fuzzy noisey thing with the production, but i don't mind at all.

PUP doesn't disappoint, again. Yeah the production is a bit iffy but doesn't bother me too too much. Some of their best songs here.

At least the skits are short but yeah, they bring nothing on an already short album.
But as with every PUP album, I'm liking it more and more with every listen. There's so many good ideas buried under that awful prod. Solo on Cutting Off the Corners, piano on Robot Song, quiet parts in Relentless, and of course those ©PUP vocal harmonies.
They did it again.

The interludes/skits are great on the first listen, but yeah easy to gloss over on subsequent turns. The opener is a bop though, and they do lend a sense of cohesion to the record, even though the whole PUP.inc thing only really shows up in any substantive form on the skits themselves.

the skits suck ass, all of them. 4 chords too, really unfunny shit.

I don't mind, I like them because they remind me of the short songs that punk rock bands used to put out. For example, Good Clean Fun's "You Gotta Stay Positive", Starvation Army's "Fun", NOFX's "I Wanna Be an Alcoholic". just rebellious. I take them well.

Tbh I'm pretty sure if this was their first LP, or their earlier records were produced like this, no one would have even noticed. I get the sense its just because Dream and co are so pristine and crunchy that this sounds a little off, but compare it to your average garage-y rock punk type record and the production isn't actively bad.

I may not be able to agree
below is my average (already rather rough) punk rock band production, which was done in 2003 or 2004

(Bent Outta Shape - Starin' at the walls) I really really like them btw. I don't know if you guys will complain about this already rough and on budget production, I will not at all.

Massive step down from MORBID STUFF imo.

Really don't like the production, it is a pain in the ass. I prefer to endure rather than complain, but I definitely won't help to cover the problem or blame myself either.
I'll find a way maybe seriously tell the band that I had a hard time with the production on this album and that's it. The past can't be changed, maybe it can be improved for the future.

I hate this album because it so easily could have been good if it didn’t sound like shit.
Even then it would probably be their worst, but a solid 3.5.
At least it sent me on a rediscovery kick through their other albums which all rule.

Love how Toronto references find their way into some songs. Robot Writes a Love Song is now prob one of my fave pup songs. Matilda too.
