Oh yeah I get you, I thought you meant across each album like this one, and I felt Zuu was very homogenous and although ta3oo was more stylistically hard to pinpoint it still felt homogenous in that that sound carried through from front to back with little interruption, but that’s just based off vague memories.

good ass album but I miss dumb Denzel a bit. John Wayne is the dumbest song here and accordingly the best, I will not elaborate

MK? I'm loving it. massive simp for both the character and Oscar Isaac tho

I’m with you there, Moon Knight is easily one of the best Marvel characters and Oscar Isaac is bae. But I just feel like both the character and Oscar Isaac deserved the “brutal” Netflix R script we were promised rather than the tip-toe Disney R we are getting so far. I’m not obsessed with the overall tone, I’m not obsessed with the voice or general portrayal of Konshu, I’m not obsessed with Ethan Hawk’s villain, and I’m not obsessed with the visuals in general, especially Moon Knights mask which I think looks bewilderingly terrible. Love the business suit tho.

It’s early and I’m gonna keep watching for now but I’m not sure it’s going to hold my attention yet.

I feel you on some of that for sure. it's definitely got a lot of the flaws the D+ shows have had like the dodgy CGI, the humour and the weird pacing 6 episode bullshit. that being said I still like it in spite of that and it's easily the best of the D+ era, although if they did it like Daredevil it might be another classic. I'm into Ethan Hawke's villain and I fucking love F Murray Abraham as Khonshu although I think it'd really come to life with a darker tone. where the last episode left off though has me pretty excited and I'm just thrilled to finally see Mr Knight in live action lmao

I haven’t been able to finish any of the D+ shows yet tbh. I came close to finishing WandaVision but it felt like a chore and didn’t make me want to invest much into the others. Haven’t touched Loki or Hawkguy, and barely made it through the first episode of Captain America and Winter Soldier. So from what I’ve seen I’d agree it’s the best of the D+ era and echo the sentiments that the humour and pacing don’t match my vision for what I think could have been the best Marvel TV content since Daredevil S1 if it was done in that tone.

Maybe Khonshu will grow on me, just felt a bit hokey on first impressions. Finding the voice acting a bit goofy and generic. Second episode definitely did enough to retain viewership for now, I thought it was much better than the first episode.

I quite liked Wandavision but the others have not been the greatest. first and last episodes of Loki were promising but everything between was stunningly boring and you def didn't miss anything with Hawkeye except *big Netflix cameo moment*, even that was pretty underwhelming lol. it's a shame because the content of these shows has been leaning towards stuff I'm really into, especially WV and Loki but the presentation has been lacking

I've always been a fan of Disappointed Dad Khonshu in the comics rather than super serious god so I'm a fan of this interpretation lol. it could probably stand to be a little more mysterious but I think they'll get there if a s2 eventuates

I admire that the D+ shows have had the confidence to try new things (I’m thinking WV, Mk, Loki) but their obsession with keeping things kid friendly enough to stay on brand just doesn’t work very well with such mature themes. I can sometimes sense the directors and writers for Marvel properties feeling creatively suffocated since Disney bought them. It’s a shame because the fact that they are being allowed to experiment is pretty much the only interesting thing going on in Marvel media these days.

And yeah pretty much the only reason I would even consider touching Hawkeye is for the King Pin and Yelena appearances

Moon Knight is the only recent marvel show that’s caught my attention, but that’s mainly cuz I’ve also been a Moon Knight simp since Marvel Ultimate Alliance

" And yeah pretty much the only reason I would even consider touching Hawkeye is for the King Pin and Yelena appearances"

lol even there you're not missing much fam. D'Onofrio is amazing obviously but the way that show wrote Kingpin is like someone gave them the sheet notes of his characterisation in Daredevil and they never bothered to do any more indepth research. Vinny is trying to act the same way but the show has a massive disconnect from how Fisk was in DD so it's just incredibly disjointed and weird

as for Yelena, she fucking rules but barely gets anything to do. you end up wishing her and Kate would just get a show to themselves and Jeremy Renner would fuck off forever, which if anyone in charge is smart is what's gonna happen

"I can sometimes sense the directors and writers for Marvel properties feeling creatively suffocated since Disney bought them"

ye I agree with this a lot especially with episode 2 of MK being directed by Justin Benson & Aaron Moorhead who made one of my favourite horror movies of past decade (Resolution) and who in general are super talented indiesphere dudes. they still did a good job with staging and shooting the episode but you can see their talent just straining up against the boundaries Disney has in place and it's a shame - then again there's a lot of talk about episode 4 of the show which they also directed being a lot darker in tone so I'm hopeful that makes better use of their skills

Everything you just said resonates. Vin in a D+ sounds neutered and I hate Jeremy renner and since all of marvels standouts have been the new female supports recently I am not surprised to hear Kate bishop stole the show.

Dude damn I didn’t know benson and Moorhead directed episode 2. Explains why it was so much better than 1 but also makes it more disappointing considering what I think they would do with it untethered

weirdest fucking thing about Fisk in Hawkeye was there was a deleted scene that nailed his characterisation and actually felt like a continuation of Daredevil. but every scene that made the show made him inexplicably overpowered and weirdly goofy. actually the deleted scenes for that whole show were the best parts of it lmfao

for real, and Benson/Moorhead are also doing the whole of Loki s2 apparently, first bit of news that actually interests me with that show getting another season
