Thats the whole point though. If it was a debut from some no ones youd be like 'its ok I guess'
Probably wouldnt listen again but when its built on the back of such consistent excellence thats baggage that you have to carry. You cant set the bar and then cry that people dont like it when you fall WAY below it. For many other bands of course youd be less bothered. Im sure theres plant that like you could say the same about.

well the best drudkh albums have that beautiful folk atmosphere this doesn't provide (and obviously that's not a part of dso's thing either, i honestly don't know what they're trying to achieve with this album)

Think it's just the deviation from the usual DsO standard compounded by general dislike of what the member's stand for. It's 2.5-3 territory, but from the band that made Fas that's basically irredeemable lol
