I feel like the track flow here is kind of off. Three (relatively) long songs in the first 4 tracks and then of the remaining 7 all but 2 are under 3 minutes. Those latter songs are mostly good too but don’t have as much heft as those early ones and kind of just drift past me (after “Respirate”) unless I pay close attention. Obviously this sequencing was intentional but it leaves the whole thing feeling uneven to me.

Ok I still mostly stand by my previous comment, but this keeps growing, definitely my second favorite 'Grove. I'm almost tempted to 4, but that would mean I have this on the same rating as Cardinal, which just feels wrong...so to bump that one to a 4.5 or relegate this to a very strong 3.5...jury is still out.

(I do agree with most of your sequencing comment tho, the back half isn't as engrossing as the first four)

I just might cave in…

But yeah those first 4 in particular are really lovely. “Orange” definitely feels like a late album track though, honestly just shifting that to be the second or third to last track and maybe putting another short track before “Iodine” would probably do a lot for the flow here IMO.

I'd say Orange, So What, and 11th Hour are my favorite tracks right now but they're all pretty great

That's an interesting trio. I like it.

I like 'Iodine' and 'Cyclone' the most. 'So What' clicked with me, too. At first, I wasn't sure about it but I like it now.

Wholesomeness from Pinegrove is a given. The music video for 'New Friends' is adorable.

I want the first 2 minutes 30 seconds of Habitat drawn out for 8 minutes. Like, Pinegrove goes jam band.

Didn't love marigold at first and that turned into my album of the year. hoping for the same here as nothing is grabbing me in the first few listens.
