All songs are solid for me, but if I had to pick the best here it would end up something like this:
1. Pain With An Anchor
2. The Crux
3. More Than I Could Chew
4. Teardrinker
5. Dagger
6. Had It All
7. Savage Lands
8. Gobblers Of Dregs
9. Eyes of Serpents
10. Gigantium

Brann's drumming in Peace and Tranquility is just RAW. That snappy snare tone sounds so good.

Finished disc 1, Pain With an Anchor, The Crux, and Pushing the Tides are the highlights so far. This is shaping up to be a really solid record. Let's hope disc 2 is as good as the first.

I can't rate it yet, more time is needed, but god man the polish on the production is killing me a bit. It definitely refines the emotion in a way where it's less impactful than it wants to be. And I don't like Bran taking the mantle as the vocalist so much. It gives it just too much of an accessible milt rock vibe where it's hard to love it as much as I want to. I love this band but I still think everything after their first four LP's is less than their best.

This is great but I just went back and jammed crack the sky and I realize why I didnt 5 this. Cause Sky will always be the 5 in their discog.

Yeah Skye is top tier but this may be the second best. Mainly because they somehow managed to provide quantity AND quality all within a refreshing package. God damn do I love these guys.

This is interesting tbh. I always thought The Hunter was usually regarded as their worst by the fanbase

the Hunter got more flack because CtS is a fan fav; OMRTS benefitted from a little bit of the classic critical "at least it's not another disappointment" see-saw that comes literally time after a band follow a polarising-ish album with an apologetic safe one, but this didn't go that far because it's not very good

I can see that. I wasn't a fan of Mastodon at the time The Hunter came out, but I could definitely imagine it disappointing people when it came out. Kinda makes me wonder how Once More would've been received if it came directly after CtS

I like The Hunter, first half is full of bangers, second half... not so much
OMATS tho... I still like it anyway, I don't really despise anything made by this band
