This has gotten better after repeat plays. At least we found the floor totally sucks ass, and I still think lightning is a kind of bad song, but otherwise it rules. I'm so glad I didn't wear out the singles prior to.

Nice.
Cold blooded doesn't seem like a favourite here but I love it. I enjoy I believed In Love but I don't get the hype for it
|
| |
I actually liked Cold Blooded a ton on the first day but it quickly moved to the backseat for some reason. It's still a list of ratings surrounded by hype tho, so the 'real' list from me will be legit in a month or so.
If I Believed In Love is the first single that I liked from the go (yes I even disliked Speak With The Dead for a brief period). T/T is still my favorite thing off of this.

I am loving that Speak With The Dead is getting universal 5/5 acclaim, what a brilliant song.

When I first heard it I felt like it didn't do enough with its length (was hoping for a Lich Prince styled solo/breakdown), but I decided it works very well both on its own merits and within the context of the album. Would certainly be in my top 10 Foxing songs, maybe even my top 5.

I'm weirdly interested in what you'll think of each song individually, and exactly how you'll arrive at a score of 2.7

What are your top 5 or top 10 Foxing songs?

@AlecBaldwin: It's been ages since I've listened to Albatross or Dealer, but very very loosely speaking, and in no particular order, I'd go with Bloodhound, The Medic, Redwoods, Eiffel, The Magdalene, Grand Paradise, Lich Prince, Gameshark, Lambert, 737, Draw Down The Moon, If I Believed in Love, and Speak With The Dead.

okay here we go um beer and chijimi and foxing
disclosure etc: i kinda enjoyed NMG, thought it was an interesting stab at ambitious conceptemowhatever that occasionally paid off and occasionally rly did not but was mostly okay? it was a 3.5!
my expectations for this one are drawn mainly from how i disagree on a regular basis with p much everyone who has a strong opinion on it. but they disagree with each other. what the shit guys. intrigue ! the artwork is nice, the font is not

opener - so this is the one that is meant to be the best thing ever and the first 2 minutes had me tapping along thinking okay okay will something happen and then it did. and i was not ready for it. and i felt it. it was good. felt a bit momentary - i wonder if it is less an individual Big Climax that stops prematurely and more a taste of things to come. bet. good song
go down 2gether - woa so the intro was a tease?! of things! not to come?!?1 dramatic opener followed by indie pop bop. very The Veils of them. reminds q a bit of that switch on TD with A Bit On The Side tbh, different tone excepted. sequencing transcends everything. A Bit On the Side is a bloody great song. this is pretty fun but a little insubstantial. like the beat and hooks and shallowness but i want more and it's not here idk thank goodness this isn't kill or keep idk what to do here damn this beer is hitting the spot

beacons - yeah fishboi you are right, this is great and i love that BEACONS hook it is great. best song so far. probably my favourite thing i've heard this (tentative) dude (big bet on rowan) do with his voice so far. vibe it. also this beer is weird, i was wrong. it is not a fresh beer. actually, i was meant to drink it last night; bought it at the bottom of a creepy fox mountain with thousands of ceremonial red gates just before climbing it, planning to drink it at the top in creepy fox darkness. the vibe was not right and i stuck to water, which means it had to survive the whole trip up, the whole trip down, and then my whole journey home mid-typhoon train delays. it is a duff beer
t/t - this is kinda what i hoped that second song that has a name i've forgotten would be. slick indie pop with a hella smthng bassline and changes of pace and a big chorus and multiple drumbeats i enjoy. i think i enjoy the vox here more than NMG in general. dec track
