Yeah i imagine those requires headphones or a late night past bedtime listen session, which might be fitting the atmospheres of those albums too anyway

Is this like your Ohms "5" where it's not actually a 5? I won't be swayed by your hyperbole, Sowing!

That's just the surface, this thing tumbles deep down the rabbit hole. Let me know what you think, quite excited to keep seeing new opinions on this. I know I'm biased but I think even the 4 avg here is a little low. This has Kid A/The Seer levels of innovation and freaky shit going on, except it's still its own revelatory experience. This is going to be my AOTY, it's more a question of how it'll do on a decade retrospective in 2029. I really do believe it's that good.

I'm halfway through this record and it's really cool. Lots of interesting moments, vibes and grooves so far.

So glad you're giving it a spin. The thread was slowing down a bit but I think this deserves continued conversation beyond what we've gotten so far :-)
It's such a unique album. Usually something as dark, weird, and experimental as this doesn't feel so...accessible? Not even sure if that's the right word because it's definitely not music for the masses, lol. It's just a very smooth and engrossing listen despite being so strange and sonically adventurous.

We shall see, I think if I find a good space for this alb it could go a long way. Will try it as a study jam and see what happens, I've been a slacker lately so maybe it will save me

I was expecting to be bored or exhausted after 2/3 of the record. However, it changes moods frequently, which is great. Feels like a surreal mix of Scott Walker, Swans, Radiohead, GY!BE, that Ulver piano and kraut stuff.
