Man, I was all about the title track as a favorite, but Drivelling Putrefaction is where it's fucking AT. That one-two is ridiculous.

This is my first time hearing these guys and I thought for the longest time they were some shitty "technical" deathcore band from the US. Might be getting them mixed up with someone else.
Didn't realized how consistent they were in their discog either

I think that's an easy enough mistake to make, but hey at least you've got a backlog of material coming into it like that. Let me know what your favorite LP ends up being. Mine has switched around a lot.
Was initially Chapters, then it was Passages, and now.... I think it is this. Like, I might be 5'ing this. We'll see where we land when I make my AOTY list.

these guys have been the best bdm band for me since psalms came out

They set the bar too high. The only bdm I really like are these guys and Cryptopsy. Everything else feels sterile or ham-fisted to me.

" Everything else feels sterile or ham-fisted to me."
Couldn't agree more. bdm is something I avoided mostly

There’s good shit for sure. I’m personally fond of Putridity, Iconic Vivisect, Disentomb, Bacteremia, Wormed, Devangelic and some others, there’s still a ton I have to listen to
Oh and the new Encenathrakh is really good. Colin Marston and Mick Barr are members and it’s wild

Disentomb is gr8. Gotta check others
|
| |
I will check it all, thanks for the recs Jester
|
| |
Anthracks has some pretty extensive brutal death metal lists which is where I’ve found a lot of stuff, I would check those too. Hard for anything to top Defeated Sanity tho
|

hard agree on encenathrakh

Damn. I haven’t heard most of those. I know I checked Disentomb’s last album but I don’t remember anything about it.
|
| |
Same, I remember their last two albums were both solid

check out Afterbirth's new album from this year, Four Dimensional Flesh. not quite as good as this but one of the best of the year for sure.
|
| |
That one's easily a standout for sure. Only heard each one once so far, but I would take Afterbirth over this.
|
| |
I thought Afterbirth was a newer band for awhile until I realized they put out two rad brutal death metal demos in 1993 and 94. Dudes are pioneers

they were doing slam a couple years before slam was even a thing iirc.
|
| |
Yea I had no idea they were doing shit all the way back then. Seems like if you look you can always find a band that was doing it before everyone else
