@MarsKid. I agree with the core sentiment of your earlier comments. I wasn't necessarily referring to those that want 'change', but specifically those that are demanding large scale systemic and structural changes, whether they be of a cultural or economic nature. When you characterise both political extremes as being preoccupied with drowing out the other, I feel you're somewhat missing the mark. I myself am, for all intents and purposes, a radically left-leaning person, and all of the intellectuals, theorists, philosophers and fellow leftist comrades I know of aren't merely concerned with fighting fascists. I cannot speak for the alt-right, but I can imagine fighting the left and pushing their own political goals can go equally hand in hand.

I would say both of those political movements are concerned with shaping the world in their image, both of those political movements would consider that an improvemen and they probably both think (generally) that fighting an ideological and cultural battle with the other one is necessary in achieving the amount of influence required to push through their own praxis. I would certainly consider this sort of antagonism to always be inherent to politics unless you somehow find a way to, say, reconcile fascism with anarcho-communism, which I reckon is rather impossible. I suppose it also depends on how instrumental you would deem compromise in solving the most pressing issues of our time. I would generally consider it to be a rather blunt instrument, so I suppose we're just going to have to agree to disagree on that matter.

Realistically speaking, I find compromise being the only route through which contentious issues can be solved without embarking upon a radical solution that may have unknowable repercussions.

In which case, I believe we may disagree. However, I appreciate your respect and the views you have to offer, which I can at least understand if not support.

In summation to sum up the sum of what I think about the issues in this thread, peepee poopoo

@MarsKid I suppose whether compromise is the preferable route for solving contentious issues is going to be contingent upon how structural those issues are. When it comes to things like climate change or wealth inequality I can't see an irradical approach being effective.

And yes, you are correct, any form of change, especially radical change, could have unforeseen consequences, but one must be careful not to invoke chaos theory in order to justify political inertia, which may lead to far more grave consequences. Lastly, I must also offer my commendation for your cordiality and the stimulating discourse.

P.S. as far as religion is concerned, Jesus is (for the most part) a total baller.

The insecure manbois really do get exposed in threads like this when the band members are either women or non-traditional in their 'message'. This is literally what the band is taking the piss out of, and you're smugly rating it a 1, folding your arms and smiling to yourselves as if it's a win. So weak.

The funny thing is that when you look at their other ratings and patterns of opinion then you can clearly see the bias against this sort of thing, and then you look at their comments and professed opinions and it's sooo clear that they're just insecure.

The knee-jerk reactions that this band's moniker and aesthetic generally seem to invoke, I think display just how badly this type is being branded, especially in the context of (black) metal.
