New guy simply doesn't cut it once the clean vocals come in.

thought he was pretty good on Eden though I can see why someone might not like it that much.

He sounds very, very strained when he reaches for those high notes. It's like he's really hurting his voice to try and attain them, and they remove me from the song. Which is a shame, as his harsh performance, while obviously not Ben, is a perfect replacement.



Doesn't help that the vocals are so high in the mix, they dominate every song and not in a good way.

I'm curious what do you think of fireside? in that he's not straining his voice as much and sounds more natural

His vocals and the lack of compelling instrumentation. Mostly the latter; it's not nearly as intricate and is muted in the production. Which is a shame, as I actually really enjoy the atmospheric shtick they were aiming for and the tonality of the instruments in general. The creativity just isn't there, and the vocal performance drowns them out because it's put front-and-center.



The pieces are there, but I don't buy the execution. Just my two cents, I won't bring any negativity through here.

Fair, I like his vocals a lot. While he's certainly no Ben, I think he does a damn good job filling his shoes. I really dig the dark atmosphere on this whole thing, and the riffs get me goin

It's his cleans alone. His harsh vocals are on point, but they're also too loud I feel.

Been stuck at home for obvious reasons, bu this has definitely made the quarantine easier. The cleans still aren't my favorite but they have grown on me a lot.
