completely agree. I almost think that "bloodstream" is the best song and then "circle the drain" is the second best and then "royal screw up" is third lol

yeah Id agree with that. first three songs are a high 4 and then the rest are fine
pretty low 4 for me overall

yeah nightswimming is good too. to be fair though I think that reflects my listening patterns more than anything. I mean of course listening patterns tend to reflect taste/attachments based on liking something but uh yeah. i should probably hit the back half of this more often

front-loading an album like that is a dangerous game
i thought maybe that my dwindling interest as it went on might have been a product of the homogeneity of the album but seeing you guys agree makes me feel more confident that the first 3 or 4 tracks really are just the strongest.

I guess its better from a marketing perspective than backloading an album lol!

Yeah this whole thing is pretty listenable but the first two tracks kinda blow the rest out of the water.

Nah night swimming and yellow are better than bloodstream and certainly royal screw up.
I tend to find albums in this scene homogenous but even I think most songs here have a unique identity and all serve a purpose, it's like we're not even listening to the same album.

lyrics to "circle the drain" aged uncomfortably well, still an SOTY contender for me

I love every song on this thing. I LIKE the fact that it's not as polished and was written in short little moments. It's a slice of life album and it's a dear little thing.
