Wouldn't be surprised. I only got into TI in 2018 so I'd don't have any nostalgic bias towards any of the records. I might check Currents as early as today.

this grew a lot on me
there are so many great lines here btw (let the air of today become tomorrow's dust e.g), i really like the concept behind most of the songs/ the album as a whole

@SowingSeason
I mean I would understand it if you like Currents better, since that too is a strong record (with Let It Happen maybe being better than anything on this), but I think this has a propulsion and a momentum that that album lacked - even though it's great, Currents dragged in places for me. And like others have been saying, I dig the consistency this has.
Idk, we'll see. I might prefer Currents as time goes on, but as of now, TSR outranks it, and there's hardly any moment where the album loses me and isn't enjoyable.

this certainly is more cohesive than currents, but currents has huge highlights that this reaches only once in a while

He will never write a better song than New Person, Same Old Mistakes. That song is his peak.

Also I personally don't find the album samey feeling (monotonous) - One More Year, Breathe Deeper, Tomorrow's Dust, It Might Be Time, and One More Hour are all very distinctive from each other, for example. Although there are many tracks that showcase grooviness/funkiness/rhythm as one of it's main attractions.
Good thing grooviness/funkiness is right up my alley.
EDIT: On second thought, I can kinda see why someone would think the SONG STRUCTURES in particular are monotonous, since KP's songwriting style is more simplified here than elsewhere. I don't really mind that aspect of the album tho. Certain songs could benefit from being less simple (Lost in Yesterday comes to mind), but the fact that a number of the songs have a simple, poppy structure doesn't bug me too much most of the time.

If you haven't already neek, I'd recommend listening to the album more than once. This has grown on me in some way almost every time I've listened to it.

It's hard to deny that this album rips

This is good, but it is boring. I want to buy this on wax and just spin it every lazy summer day.

The middle songs are amazing. Such a breezy, tropical summer album.

I am gonna follow Talons advice and wait until July to jam this.

The new mix on Borderline bothers me so much though, it is such a downstep from the original mix that it irks me to no end. Don't know why he chose this one for the record.

Dude the new borderline mix is SO much better. The heavy synth bass makes the song.
Sounds like somebody didn’t do it all the time in college 👀

Is It True is bootyhole
Glimmer is also a total ???
Nearly everything else is gold, ESPECIALLY that new Borderline mix.
