I just finished it and I felt it was quite hard to slog through, but at the same time you can't deny it's well produced and executed.
I doubt I'll come back to it though.

@Dewinged it probably needs more listens but I’m not incredibly floored by it myself either. I would definitely recommend their old stuff in chronological order though, A Social Grace and Into the Everflow will probably do it for you based on those other bands you mentioned. Watchtower rules!

Yeah I might go through their old stuff before jamming this one again to get a wider picture. It has all the ingredients to work for me but somehow it just didn't as I thought it would.

Rating BEFORE listening is the real pro technique here, Omair, takes years of practice.

I think many genres of music can be accurately rated after a listen or 2. This isn't one of them.

I've seen this conversation many times on this site, so I'll just reiterate what I always say: Rating after one listen is just a reminder for myself to know if I want to revisit smth or not.
Aside of that, rating shouldn't be taken very seriously anyway, just have fun and do what you want. It's not like we are deciding if someone lives or die here ;)
