SOAPF is nice. "Where the Dead Ships Dwell", for example, is a song I dig

it has a couple good songs like most of their albums but that's about it

SOAPF was the last "good" In Flames album. Always found it more consistent than ASOP too, ASOP had a habit of feeling under-written at times.

Ugh... I tried.

- Overproduced, yet still lacks depth

- Every song feel too anthemy like it's trying to be a later bring me the horizon (you can switch from late in flames to late bmth and it's actually kinda hard to tell the difference at times)

- The guitar sound/tune never seems to change and it feels like they keep using the most generic sounding one possible

- The riffs kinda sound a little tryhard but some are okay

- Ander's doesn't sound too bad . His voice is beyond shot but sounds presentable at least

I wish I could get into the late In Flames. Makes me sad that I just can't. I have no idea what genre to call their later work. It's like dollar general metal. The good thing, however, is that their newer stuff sounds pretty good live, but in the studio it's like the most plain white bread you could buy at the store or chicken without any seasoning

ASOP was the last album of theirs that resembled old in flames. At times I'd even say it had more in common with the older material than come clarity

ASOP was a well written album save for some minor faults, however one I dig for sure.

Come Clarity was the last truly great IF album and the average should be higher

it's definitely better produced than battles. something about the sound the later albums have that i can't put my finger on, like it's a layer placed over the final product to give it this dry sound

but you know what, with headphones on i, the mask doesn't sound so bad production wise

nah, it's a honest effort. far from being bad. Nothing mindblowing as well, but still a great improvement over the two albums before

Anders is probably trying to make all the cash he can before his voice is too blown out to continue

Come Clarity has "Leeches", one of the weakest follow-ups to a badass opener in In Flames history, but it's still great otherwise.

Leeches is way better than take this life. The chorus in take this life is so bad

both Leeches and Take This Life are awesome, and the latter's chorus is amazing

Leeches is such a weak track on there.

And yes I listened to Siren Charms... even the 1-2 punch of In Plain View/Everything's Gone wasn't as disappointing.

I like the rest of take this life but his vocals in the chorus just sound weak and whiny
