Need to revisit Sempiternal, haven't heard it in years. I remember liking it a lot back in the day, and hating Antivist quite a lot because of how forced it sounded.

Yeah Mantra is about as close as it gets to That's the Spirit and it was literally written to not alienate their fanbase.

Will check eventually.

Bank peaked with There is a Hell... for me.

I'm probably in the minority in that I'll even defend Antivist, tbh.

"Is this is a continuation of That's the Spirit then I'll be giving it a hard skip."

I would've skipped it too if it sounded like TTS, but no, it's way different.

Sempiternal has some of their best songs (Can You Feel My Heart, House of Wolves, Sleepwalking & Hospital for Souls)

Just feel like There is a Hell...is the only complete album they've done.

There Is a Hell's tracklist is a bit wonky, and I'm not quite as hot on Blacklist, but that's still a hard 4 for me.

All the singles on that album were amazing.

I remember actually buying a copy on release haha, was a big fan back in the day.

I think with a better tracklisting and maybe cutting out or revising "Blacklist", There Is a Hell would be a 4.5 for me.

Understandable, for me it's in the lower echelon though. That closer though is pure sex.

Heavy metal, nihilist blues, in the dark, wonderful life and the closer are all great songs.

I've gathered that Joshie didn't like the EDM tinge to this album, so I doubt he dug Nihilist Blues.

I'd say give it a few more spins, it may end up growing on you. If you still don't like it much after a second or third spin...yeah. This isn't anywhere near the likes of Jane Doe where it'll eventually click sometime. But it could happen in a few listens tbh.

Album is brilliant as expected, and I love how OLI & THE BOYS DON'T GIVE A FUUUUUUUUUCK ABOUT THEIR HATERS (i.e "Heavy Metal"...probably the best cut on this record"

Amo is a beautifully crafted, wonderful mesh of hard rock, pop, alternative, EDM, and it is masterfully expansive, engineered to a tee, produced to a caliber of no other, and the follow-up to 2015's groundbreaking record, That's the Spirit, fires on all cylinders (albeit there is some filler here, i.e. ouch, fresh bruises)

Oli & the boys do what they want, when they want, and they're beyond happy about it. Everything is subjective. Half of their fans want their old sound back, while the other half are bracing their newfound sound. Either way, they are selling out all of their upcoming concerts and are smiling all the way to the bank.

Amo is the record that the world has been waiting for for a long time.

High points: Mantra, Nihilist Blues, Medicine, Sugar Honey Ice & Tea, Mother Tongue, Heavy Metal, and I Don't Know What to Say

Low points: Wonderful Life, Ouch, Fresh Bruises

It flows better than any of their other albums

It's production qualities are at an all time high

A little too much electronics for Benecidal, but I remain open minded as Oli & the Boys set out on a new journey.

Released to critical acclaim, Amo is the record that people will be soaking in for years to come.

If you have kids, their kids' kids are going to be cranking out Amo.

Some refer to this as "timeless".

I refer to this as a masterpiece.

Amo is their best work to date.

Okay spinning this now. Only up through Mantra so far. And I’m very confused. I’ve heard the song so many times and hated it every time. Even just yesterday. Now it has clicked. Still don’t love it, but it’s a solid 3/5 track for me while it’s been a 1/5 for me since the beginning. Maybe Wonderful Life will have randomly grown on me too... Really looking forward to getting through this record

Everything I've heard grew on me a tonnnn over multiple listens and I'm on fresh bruises right now. This is pretty fun, I'm really enjoying it.
