Shorter rap albums is a fucking blessing.

interludes have their place when used correctly but sometimes straight to the point is all we want at that moment

aint just "Trap shit" that has catchy hooks my friend. i could list a hundred rappers that know how to write a hook. Danny Brown in my mind is the best at it currently.

but i still enjoy earl just rapping regardless. and i do love the short rap album trend. get rid of the skits and interludes.

Well yeah I know that obviously. The point is if you want catchy hooks then Earl isn’t the guy to go to for that.
But yeah this rules either way.

this grew on me a lot, i think i'm a little weird and the two songs i most dislike are the first two
idk the samples are just really at the forefront and grating, particularly red water
rest flows seamlessly and jams

still can't rival idlsidgo but not much could

I'd like to see an Earl/Tyler collab album at some point tbh, both seem to be in a really creative space right now.

The s/t rivals it but I agree I Don’t Like Shit is def his best.

This album is straight to the point of being a mess. No glossy interludes before we get into the derivative overuse of samples, hell yeah thanks earl!
I guess my point is there’s no structural purpose to basically anything on this album. It’s like a sample-keyboard jam session, and a boring one at that
