Nah I definitely hear it on those too. The opening riff on The Old Me is clearly guitar for example.

Same with quite a bit of that Asking Alexandria album.

Obviously I'm exaggerating a bit, but there's a big difference in the guitar tone on those albums than Wage War

Yeah, I think it's just the whole "oh we are so heavy at drop g we don't need to write riffs" thing has gotten fucking old.

Why does good music need guitars tho? If the songs work without it then they just work

I want to like Wage War more but god damn I find that trend they follow insufferable. It's why it's hard for them to grow on me, just wish bands would learn from acts like Phinehas and focus on riffs and melodies rather than the djun.

Wage War is boring as fuck my bois

Honestly I don't mind much of their sophomore album, Deadweight. Stitch is basically The River with a much better composition, and I fuck with Johnny Cash hard. It's just that debut album that isn't doing it for me.

Wage War is pretty good and they're really good live.
Also Briton is cool as fuck.

Yeah I think with some more refining, they could probably become more in line with at least acts like Polaris or Silent Planet.
|
| |
Polaris slaps so hard do not pair them with the garbage pile that is Wage War
|
| |
Wage War has some bangers, they just can't write a good album.

Deadweight was a step in the right direction though
|

Deadweight was as the title implied
|

Stitch was juicy tho

Stitch, title track, Johnny Cash, Gravity, and Don't Let Me Fade Away are all pretty good songs.
