This album is everything I dreamed about years ago when I listened to this band everyday and was begging for a new album
I am so glad my suspicion this might be bad was completely 100% wrong

@Mardorien: no worries, everyone is different & I wasn’t suggesting anything otherwise... I just don’t think this is particularly abrasive based on my own experiences. However, I can certainly see how it could be disconcerting, or make someone feel uneasy, especially if they were inclined to have those feelings generally.

Maybe not that abrasive in a super heavy sense but this album is really suspenseful and creepily atmospheric, that can mess someones anxiousness up pretty bad

There was just a loud ass car accident right outside my door while I was listening to this and I swear I thought it was part of Ocean Song at first

I don't think it was necessarily the prospect of this not being morning music. I first checked Blood Fire Death at 7:30 in the morning and it gave me just the kick in the ass I needed

Ocean Song is one of the weaker cuts, for me at least. This whole thing is beastly though

That slow build-up to the menacing, grimy end of City Song is just incredible. What a pay off.

Ok I’ve decided after much deliberation (not really) that this album sucks, it’s all style over substance & far too reliant on the aesthetic. I guess if you dig the creepy atmosphere I can see how you might look beyond the almost non-existent song-writing, unfortunately not for me. The Reason They Hate Me is the only engaging composition here, the rest is just uninteresting & repetitive atonal noise with bland vox.
