We've got Obliteration, Tomb Mold, Augury, Portal, Burial Invocation and a lot of other bands that have a distinct sound (tho Tomb Mold less so of the aforementioned) that put out an album this year. This has some nice recycled riffs and over produced vocals, so its not all bad

Oh, yeah, to be clear, I'm not saying this is the best dm album of the year or anything. Just saying it sounds like an amalgamation of a ton of dm releases from this year. There are a few like that, but this album and the new Scorched album seem more successful with their aim. I don't know. Forget I said anything lol.

I don't get the hype for bands like that who don't seem to have a definitive sound. Yeah theyre good and sound good but I swear I've heard the album before they even wrote it.

Hahaha yeah I know what you mean. Their Condemned to Misery album is god mode to my ears. It's everything I want in a straightforward, traditional dm album.
