Swallow the Sun live just sounds like a depressing experience.

I've seen them live twice (once with Amorphis, once with Dark Tranquillity). They're middle-ground, but definitely not the most depressing band I've seen live. I'd probably give that to Oceans of Slumber.

Seeing Pauly Shore live like 6 years ago might be the most depressing show I've ever seen..

They're playing in my town next year together with Soilwork. Hyped!

Those lyrics are so confusing. Sunlight is bad, but starlight is awesome, what.

Damn this edging in 4.5 territory for me. They never showed that much complexity and variety in their arrangements before, yet still never wandering off of that Amorphis path of catchiness/fun/epic feel. In other words, infinite replayability. Plus I can't get enough of Tomi's vox

Well said ialchimiste. It's about allowing oneself to enjoy this despite it being pop with growls.

Also, I highly recommend attending the tour with DT that they are doing atm, it was soooo freaking amazing with huge setlists from both bands. Even Omnium Gatherum was bringing the goods as opener with their synthy Insomnium riffs.

Yeah that sounds awesome. Can't hop on a plane to the US, so I'm just hoping for some sweet videos.

this has really grown off me, i've kind of realized this album doesn't do anything that under the red cloud does a lot better

i still like it and enjoy it but it hasn't stood the test of time for me ultimately
