yeah I get that sleepys. i’ve always struggled with whether to separate the art or not. so often the work is such a reflection of the person, their experiences and beliefs, that it’s hard to do so. and let’s be honest, it is way way way easier to cut an artist out of your life if you don’t already consume their work/only do somewhat vs cutting out one you love. Can’t really criticize one either way for whether they do it or not when I myself can’t make a decision.

My main thing is you just can’t kill someone over alleged offenses, we have a justice system who’s job is to convict people like him. So now instead of justice, xxx becomes a fucking martyr and there’s nothing anyone can do to change that.
There is no justice in murder and I can tell you what, the people xxx did abuse are absolutely not going to find peace now that society is pretty much gonna deify xxx

I remember getting into an argument with my friends years ago because they didn't fuck with Jonny Craig anymore over his controversy but kept fucking with As I Lay Dying. I personally still listen to their music. To me, if you write off an artist because of their personal problems, that opens the flood gates to having to explain why you wouldn't write off all these other artists

yeah I think it'll be conflicting for the ones he hurt. on one hand theres no way he can hurt them ever again but on the other in the public sphere he will prob be looked at as a martyr of some kind, at least by his stans and how would that make you feel if the person that raped you became a public martyr?
