This is pretty bad...and the mixing/mastering is abysmal. Sounds like garbage.

What a coincidence that both first singles from 13th step and this album didn't catch my intention the first time I listened to it and I had to wait until the second single to really feel comfortable with the album

What platform did you listen to it on? I listened to it on Spotify and I often find things often sound really compressed on there. I'll see how the CD version sounds when I get a hold of it...

This could grow beyond a 4

How does an album cover like this even get approval? Did they all have a meeting and were like "Yeah, looks good."

lmao
I mean, they probably all heard the album once after they wrote and recorded it high on acid like six years ago and they saw the album art their friend Dave made for them and they were like, 'fuck it, the album sucks anyway, let's press this bitch out'

This is just okay. I like this version of 'By and Down' a bit more than the previous version. Pretty easily the best track on the album... everything else is just meh aside from the cover, which sucks.

Doctuses - this is more enjoyably terrible than Automata...but technically, yes, it is even worse

WAOTY?

Album Rating: 1.0 | Sound Off
Not sure. Technically there are worse I guess - a few really pointless trap albums, plus Fall Out Boy, Thirty Seconds to Mars, Senses Fail, etc
For me WAOTY should come from something really mainstream and somewhat disappointing - the people involved have pedigree and I have previously enjoyed or at least respected some of their previous work to some degree
So the worst that fit that description would be this, the new Manics album, the new Machine Head, the Jack White.
This is probably the worst of those four so I’d be happy labelling it WAOTY

I'm afraid to honestly even give this a listen.

The average is going up so for some maybe it’s a grower, I’ve given it three listens now and I can see what people like but I’m not an APC fan to begin with, always thought at best they were Tool-lite/baby-Cure with JMK in peak mumbo jumbo mystic guff mode.
I have ‘Mer de Noms’ on a 2.5 so maybe take the difference between that rating and your rating and add that figure to my 1 rating of this to get your actual likely rating.
