Just that one part of the Fox in motion is so cool. You know the part (the “chorus”?)

Fox in Motion does have the HARDEST damn hook on the entire album. I find myself singing it dozens of times a day.

Fun Fact: Somewhere A Judge is the best song this band has written

I’ll second that

something about how this band comes up with melodies or puts them together seems so labored to me somehow, like they're putting stuff where it doesn't fit. I guess people might dig that off-kilter feel but I feel like it's supposed to be catchy and is not which is a negative effect to me

robertsona - I completely get that
it doesn't hold true for me but, in general, I understand that gripe with this band
|
| |
agree with alex, you have to work to find the catchiness (which seems counter-intuitive) but it's there
|
| |
How you guys can't hear the super obvious hooks and catchiness is beyond me. Literally the catchiest band ever

I’m inclined to agree. For music that’s not overtly pop there is a very strong emphasis on hooks.
|
| |
Frances is such a strong singer that even moments where she's not singing a direct "hook" there are little vocal hooks that really grab yiu. Not to mentuon the magnetic guitarwork, bass licks, and drums that just POP

the drums and bass groundwork on this is low-key fire. How you got your limp suffers from the lack of it, weakest song on the whole album.

Yeah, that’s the only song here I don’t love.

its pretty fuckin crazy how this chick can go from tender, soft singing to a harsh yell in the same line and not have it sound like studio trickery at all
I don't know if they just compressed the everliving fuck out of her vocals or if her voice starts rasping at a really low volume but either way it's pretty trippy
