I wonder how much Bloc regrets making that comparison.

I don't really have any issues with the production here....fits the style nicely (take it or leave it).

Shit I was about to jam last Xenosis (prog-metal).

Haven't jammed a lot of prog-death this year... does this suck or S U C C?

“I don't really have any issues with the production here....fits the style nicely (take it or leave it).“

Oh you most certainly have to make some sacrifices to make tech and prog death work, prod wise. I don’t think compression to the point where the intro riff to Old Nothing turns the kick and guitars to mush and renders the cymbals and blasts almost completely null is the best sacrifice to make, however. This thing turns into a mess as soon as things get fast and that’s a probably an issue if you play death metal maybe.

Anyone who thinks this prod job is acceptable for prog/tech death simply because the likes of Neo or Allegaeon also revel in overly compressed tomfoolery need to drink some Marston.
