Let it Enfold you just doest hold up that well for me lol. Outdated misogynistic lyrics (Buddy admits to this) and similar song structures. For their early stuff I always did enjoy “Bloody Romance”. But nothing beats Can’t Be Saved, Still Searching, or The Priest and the Matador ;]

I was blown away the first time I heard "Can't Be Saved". As cliche as it sounds the lyrics were so relatable/talking to me. "I'm stuck in a coma, stuck in a never-ending sleep. And someday I will wake up. And realize I made up everything."

This is just too fake! The only song I like is Elevator To The Gallows, even with that ridiculous sweet Penelope lyric

Why did they just put the same song 12 times on a disc?

not even close to being accurate enough of a statement to think you actually listened to the album. proposing the songs are all the same is not a valid opinion.

Settled on a 3.5. It's good but not the behemoths their last two albums were. Buddy's cleans sound better than they have since SS but ultimately the return to a LIEY sound is hindered by a lot of mid tempo, softer songs and the production which neuters the guitars.
LIEY is their worst album anyway though so...
Best tracks for me are Elevator, Orlando and a Miscarriage, and the singles are all pretty fun. I usually love a good SF closer but this one just hasn't really hit me yet.

the closer is decent, the good songwriting overcomes the melodramatic lyrics
idk, I listen to a lot of cheesy crap, but anything in the vein of "I want to die without you" just rubs me the wrong way, and that's a disturbingly high percentage of what's going on in this album.
plus after about three songs it all sounds the same.

@TheSpirit I just really don’t like it! The music is pretty much all the same, Final song even meh, I can’t relate to the various American states named and that die in the back of a van lyric seems like it was added just for LIEY sake (as this album was meant to be similar).
His wife isn’t dead, he doesn’t seem happy the child was born, he’s meant to be an atheist yet sings about god/lord/jesus, was him being queer a publicity stunt?
Loved the last two albums, this one sucks
