Memory is such a sick tune. Probably my favorite song on here, although it's pretty damn hard to choose.

Hell yeah. I don't even know who my top 5 melodeath would be but these guys would def be in it. DT is at the top for me but beyond that there's so much good melodeath out there it's too hard to pick.

Off the top of my head I’d prob go Dark Tranquillity, Amorphis, Insomnium, The Black Dahlia Murder then these guys, Children of Bodom , Edge of Sanity, In Flames (early stuff obvs) and a few others at the top as well.

Soilwork, Kalmah, Dark Tranquillity, Mors Principium Est, and old In Flames for me.

take out In Flames and put Hypocrisy between Soilwork and Kalmah if you wanna count them.

I love Kalmah too. I need to get into Soilwork and Hypocrisy I never really did.

Soilwork has a few duds in their discography but mostly it's pretty solid, and they've been on a major upswing where they've really diversified and upped the technicality of their sound on the last couple albums. I'd definitely recommend checking A Predator's Portrait, Natural Born Chaos, and The Living Infinite. Bjorn Strid has my favorite clean singing voice in metal.

as for Hypocrisy, they lean further into death which is why I'm on the fence about counting them, but their stuff is awesome. The Final Chapter, s/t, and Virus are all worth checking out. incidentally, Peter Tagtgren is my favorite harsh vocalist in metal as well.

As far as Soilwork, check the ones scythe mentioned but also check Steelbath Suicide, The Chainheart Machine, and The Ride Majestic.

And I guess if I had to pick, I'd go with Dark Tranquillity, Kalmah, Soilwork, At the Gates, and these guys. Insomnium is high up there too though, same with Hypocrite, Eucharist, Autumn Leaves, and Garden of Shadows. Yeah way too hard to pick lol. Never really checked Black Dahlia or Hypocrisy though.

those three are def worth checking too but I didn't want to rec half their discography to a first time listener lol

props for including Autumn Leaves and Eucharist in there. really underrated bands. definitely check the Hypocrisy I mentioned though

"but I didn't want to rec half their discography to a first time listener lol"

Yeah true haha. Usually with Soilwork I just tell people to go for the first 4 and last 2. Having their "slump" or whatever you wanna call it in the middle of their discog kinda makes it easier to rec lol.

I'll def check Hypocrisy and Dahlia. I've seen Dahlia a few times opening for other bands and they always put on a good show so I don't really know why I haven't bothered to listen to an album yet.
