Presland is definitely the weakest link of the band. He's technically impressive for sure, but he's not very creative in the slightest, and his drums have sounded like a Toontrack drum VST since Portal of I.

That's what I meant when I said I thought drums were programmed, they are technically impressive but, somehow, they sound lifeless.

his blasts sap the energy of the music around them

I love Presland's drums. Those blasts make shit soar. The ones like a third of the way through As Icicles Fall are my favorite.

"Let's say you go out to eat at a steakhouse. You order a ribeye. You take one bite and it tastes like human excrement. Do You finish eating it and go back for more?"
Yeah no, not the same at all. You're paying for that steak, you checked the reviews on tripadvisor for that steakhouse and you decided to go and have a try... In this case NeO are offering shit (in the eyes of the beholder), so why in the world would you take a bite if you're dead sure you don't like shit??? That is beyond me...

"Hawks. If there is one thing I'm sure of, it's that you will not like this. Our tastes are so similar it's fucking scary."
Gawd, bear him a child already...

i don't get y'all's points
this has 6 different songs, not all of them are the same but they're similar. you can make a guess as to how this sounds based on samples, though the accuracy depends on how many samples you take. if u hate one song, there's a decent chance you'll hate the next one, tho the chance depends on how homogeneous the album is
sometimes u go blindly into albums, not expecting anything
whether u give this a low rating or not is your business and no one else's, since they can't tell you what you've experienced or not. it's preferable in general to give this as many unbiased, representative chances as possible, but sometimes it's just not worth it

I always thought that the clean vocals are the weakest part in this otherwise fantastic mix, and I am a bit sad they are so dominant on this album. Citadel is still a bit better imho.

clean vocals aren't bad on this actually

I keep getting distracted by the drum production, especially the faster parts. Just doesn't sound right to me. Other than that been enjoying this.

Interesting production choice. That kick drum.
Bandcamp tags: "Agalloch", "Death", hmm.. the "Between the Buried and Me" one makes sense.
Once again, I tried, but I'm happy you guys dig this. There's some cool guitar work on it, but not really my cup of tea.

hey this is pretty good actually! too bad about that bass drum sound tho

production is the worst thing here, but not nearly bad enough for me not to like this

"I don't understand what you people see in this. It sounds like they recorded this album in 2 days on fruity loops studio trial version."
Bruh it's called FL Studio now
