a lot to unpack but yeah, holy fuck. Died In The Prison of Holy Office and of course both Infinite Josh and Fewer Afraid were a trip.

lost my shit with that call back to Crow's Nest on Fire at the end of Died in the Prison, literally one of their finest moments back when and they even made it better now

new one so ridiculously good that it makes this one duller than it already was, listened to it beforehand and feel like the only song that still holds up is Gram so I might even lower my rating

do you mean Katamari Duquette? the "Away with god, away with love" part? (i lose track of the names of most of the bside tracks) but that's the callback that i remember/stuck out to me and i definitely also lost my shit

@grey

ohhhh fuck you're right IT IS Katamari, got those singles mixed for a hot sec, both songs rule specially the drumming which I feel never gets talked about enough

am a bit drunk and really enjoying the shit out of this album, man I missed this band

I enjoyed Inifinite Josh, but the last twenty minute monolith is not as good.

Loved the Katamari interpolation too. Also, I was looking more forward to BBNG and James Blake today, but finding myself wanting to keep returning to this.

only thing that actually disappoints me is that the callback part in Fewer Afraid isn't even close to as good as Getting Sodas but everything prior, especially Katie's part right before that is wow . wish they just layered the two tbh, that would've been perfect but oh well. love the Mount Hum callback too

New one is almost as good as Harmlessness. Could see them going toe-to-toe for my favorite TWIABP album.

New closer is my favorite closer of theirs which I realize is a pretty hot take
