I feel kinda privileged living in the NRW region in Germany hehe

Cologne, Hamburg, Berlin and maybe Wiesbaden/Munich and Leipzig are the german hotspots...for some reason they skipped fucking Hamburg. But the crowd in Hamburg sometimes really sucks in contrast to Cologne

new Leprous single really goes in the same alley like this album. I am hyped, even though most people don't seem to dig it

Aside from the first single, which really reminded me of Curtains in a way, i don't really see the similarity

Maybe a bit, but nearly as much as on Below

yup, same here. To be fair, all singles they've released so far have this long and slow comeup which is so charasteristic for this whole album (but ofc, curtains the most)

exactly what I mean, even tho it is of course a little superficial

that thing was sitting at a 3-3.5 for me initially. good, but nothing worth revisiting. boy have i been wrong. just rediscovered this record a few days ago and it completely blew me away. what an epic jounrey and they absolutely nail that grandeur-feeling without fallin into whiny bombast.
damn shame they broke up

Probably one of the most underrated records from the last decade, it is quite the journey from beginning to end.

The only problem i have with this album is most of the song having too similar structure. Each song is brilliant though and they all share a fair portion of sound (one of best examples of albums you should listen to in their entirety) so it's not as striking

True, the songs are structured far more samey than on their debut, but i feel the melodies and atmosphere have a bigger emotional impact. Songs like Curtains are really cinematic and epic, and although there are epic songs on their debut too, they don't really pop into my head

This is great

Wish I had just picked up the vinyl when I had the chance and now it's like £200

70 quid which is still a bit pricey.

I just can't get over how good their synthy guitar tone is...
|

Mad they disbanded so quickly but they had a great output while active.

Yeah it's great and key to how well they integrate electronics into their songs. It's amazing how tastefully they do it. Neither too disjointed nor gimmicky.
