"My initial instinct is to say that had I been a converge fan since the beginning I would have spent those 14 interim years yearning for a remaster of YFM lol, that I would not have been satisfied with the initial production job even though I like the songs a ton. the original YFM is still good no doubt but I can't imagine that album coming out after Jane Doe and being like "yeah this is what I want to hear and how I want to hear it""
I bought this on CD the year it came out, and I never really considered the production, because the songs were so good. That CD is still the only physical copy I own, but the beefier and fuller sound on Redux is definitely an awesome alternative. The end of Last Light sounds that much more massive and punishing in particular.

Yeah, tried a few times to convert (see what I did there? :D) into converge but failed miserably. My best friend who happens to be my bands drummer also went to a converge show with m because I begged him because I didn't want to go alone. He left after 4 songs to get beer

You'd think a drummer would have been stoked to watch Koller play live

His taste is trash and he is uncultured swine

His main gripe with Converge is that it's too stressful for him to sit through. He's more into basic hardcore metalcore stuff and some german pop/folk stuff.

He's a decent drummer though :D

The thing I like about Koller is nothing he plays is like too outrageously difficult, he just has a knack for playing the exact perfect part for what’s going on elsewhere musically literally all the time

Yeah he’s fast but crazy speed doesn’t really appeal to me that much unless it also has groove (which he does)

Hahah he's nowhere near kollers level but for the sound we're going for he's pretty good. His kick patterns could use some work but with working schedule it's pretty difficult for him to practice. He respects converge and stuff for their technical abilities but just does not seem to enjoy it

Idk I’m not a drummer but Bens playing always sounded pretty insane to me

Sparrows Fall is a prime example.

The remix puts this at like, a hair below Jane Doe
