Review gets ten points for using more words than most Linkin Park fans can string together collectively.

the tour of linkin park with 30stm was one of the worst things in music. and I don't mean it because of the bands, but their fanbase respectively.

Just gave "The Hunting Party" a listen and compared to this it's bliss.
Shame.
Still haven't rated this, but I reckon a 2.0 is fair. It's not the abysmal album all these 1.0s make it out to be but it's pretty fucking bad.

I'm a big fan of everything they've made to date, can't get behind this album though. Considering everything they said during The Hunting Party album cycle, I find it hard to believe that this is the music they want to make. Has to of been pushed by the record company. Album gets a 2.0 because I really enjoy the first track, Songs with Shinoda singing and the nice production values.

I looked at other reviews from you. This is a pop album. It has to be reviewed likewise. I listen to everything and a lot of radio pop. This album is much much better than most of it. From a poptimist's perspective, it's a solid 4-5. This isn't competing with "The Downward Spiral", It's competing with the likes of "grammy nominated" "Purpose", and "albums of the year" "1989" and
"25" and it's much much better than all of them.

I'm not even considering this to be an actual album in their discography.
Someone needs to make a Mike and Chester solo artist page and just put this on there.

For the sake of music I hope Adele wins....One of the three "pop" singers I respect along Lana del Rey and Marina Diamandis

Chipmunk vocals aside, Nobody Can Save Me, Sorry For Now, and Talking to Myself are pretty decent tracks. I was hoping for an album that sounded like a sequel to A Thousand Suns but this is alright.
|
| |
Mostly a not good album though for what it's worth it's still better than Living Things.
Don't see much talk of A Thousand Suns anymore but if you get rid of those 6 really bad and pointless interlude tracks that album's fairly enjoyable and holds the band's best material post-meteora imo. Strangely enough I never really got into The Hunting Party despite enjoying a bit of it, it just felt kinda strange to me, despite going heavy again it still felt really far-removed from their original work. I feel if these guys were genuinely interested in making heavy music they never would've stopped.
