If you want more songs like the title track, maybe you'd want to give the One Day You Will Ache Like I Ache collab album w/The Body a listen. No "creepy doll" vocals on it at all ofc but still, I think it's the closest to that kind of sound.

it is nice, just gets a bit boring after a bit. But I think it's the probem with all grind in general

Grind doesn't HAVE to be like that tho
Never was impressed by these dudes

Would this be a bad introduction to the band? Vibe I'm getting from you guys is that it's a bit of a departure from their usual sound.

Yeah man check the collab 2xLP they did with Merzbow. It's prime.

their only that isnt absolutely prime is rudiments. They spend too much time shoehorning in power electronics and harsh noise and more often than not its kinda just boring and meanders. Vessel Deserted is a beast of a track though. They really nailed the incorporation of the noise elements on the merzbow collab. That thing is pure evil.

The Merzbow split is still what I'd call their peak, Mars. Try it. Lots of dynamics as far a noise incorporation and song structure. Burst Synapse, Blue Litmus, and Thrum in the Deep are some of their top songs. Of course, their more hardcore records, Roots and Rudiments, are fantastic too.
Also, magicuba, check out Jouhou or Inalienable Dreamless by Discordance Axis and tell me what you think. That band is pretty dynamic, rhythmically complex, and even melodic for grind. You may or may not like, but it won't be boring.

"You may or may not like, but it won't be boring."
Youve successfully summarized, in a single sentence, what hours of deliberation on my feelings towards Discordance Axis could not; in that as much as i dont like their music, i really love listening to it.
