yeah I guess that was a little harsh but like a band is gonna release what they want, it just feels weird to “demand” that they do anything other than what they decided to do.

I don't think Em was demanding anything though, he just brought up how some songs aren't entirely brand new compositions and I think that's a fair assessment in regard to critique. Unless they sound mind-blowingly better than the originals it makes sense if one would be disappointed by it. I don't get what the error is here.



For most pleb listeners though, new music *is* what's unheard of by the listener.. I get the distinction you're making, but I'd say that's probably the most common usage of the term when people think "new music". It's weird to associate it with moving goalposts when it's really just splitting hairs.

I didn't demand anything stop putting words in my mouth. Yes awaking titans is a new song. But its already heard. So other than awaking titans you get one unheard 4 min instrumental and one 7 min closer track that's it. Which is pretty wack tbh. Just being honest.

Edit: This is very well executed, yet very generic death metal. If you like Funebrarum, Dead Congregation and that stuff you have heard this done a bit better.

no one would be able to tell the difference anyway, they could really just re-release this record every 3 years and theyd still have a 3.8 cuz riffz

That's something I run up to a lot. Except for me I'm on the other side and I love that new Mortiferum and dropped a 5.



This I remember I gave it a 3 when it came out, and then didn't jam it for that whole year. Then I think some songs came up on shuffle and I was like wait this is better than I gave it credit for.



I didn't like Tomb Mold that much either and I put off listening to Planetary Clairvoyance a whole year and then was like, shit. Would have been one of my favorites that year, but then some other stuff just gets me right away on first listen.
