Oh trust me, the 80s and 90s has more than a fair share of absolute abysmal rubbish. Time has just filtered out the garbage and left behind the good stuff (for the most part) and the same will happen with our current music 10-20 years from now. I wont deny that there has been some sterilization in the sound of pop music since then, but that's Bill Clinton's fault.
