The title track and Because of Toledo are my favs from High
and Stay Close
And yours?
Hmm when i think of it i maybe would consider this a morning album
|
| |
from High my favs would be Because of Toledo, I Would Never, Soul Boy, Broken Loves. Man what a great album. I've got it 5d so I could list them all but I'll stick with those for now lol.
I think High is an early morning album, Rooftops is late morning, PAL is sunset, Hats is late night. Band is not for the afternoon it seems

I should def listen to those albums one day in that order!
Feel like these albums fits cloudy days more than sunny days
"I Would Never" is amazing too yeah
I 5 albums too rarely lol but Blue Nile def has some albums that i would consider very close to a 5

| |
Yeah I became obsessed with this band about 6 months ago and they instantly became my favorite band. On rym I've got 23 albums 5d and they've got 4 of the spots lol.

love that feeling when you find a band that just has a near perfect discog to dive into
Used to listen to Hats like a fckin madman back in college when i was pulling all-nighters writing papers and preparing for exams. Not at all fun, but this album at least made those times memorable af for me
Does anyone know it Blue Nile is still active? if i remember correctly they have always been known for working at a slow pace

paul buchanan has been posting more on more to instagram the past few months, including pics of guitars and captions saying he's writing so : D
for years there had been a falling out between pj moore and paul and robert bell but it seems they've made up in recent years so there's hope there
paul's solo album dropped in 2012 so it's about the right time of the cycle between new stuff from them lol

damn i sort of recall reading about him having a solo album but totally forgot about checking it out!
Is it worth a listen? i have no doubt it is but i dont have time to listen through it now so i`ll just ask haha!
|

it’s different from the blue nile stuff. it’s more so a collection of short ideas. all piano driven. it’s good stuff but i personally don’t hold it to the same caliber as the rest of their stuff. tho admittedly i haven’t spent much time with it. i have no doubt it could also grow to be a 5 in time lol

That sounds interesting! Will maybe check it out tomorrow if is easy to find online
But it would be hard to top The Nile for any of the guys going solo so i will try to go in not comparing it to Hats or any of the other albums
|
| |
Yeah and it's really nothing like them anyways. Hard not to compare since it's from the same mastermind but it's definitely got it's own identity like all the other Blue Nile albums

Maybe, while reading this thread, you just discovered Paul Buchanan released a solo album in 2012, and you can't stop playing it over, and over, and over again ...but maybe that's just me. ;-)
