Nothing Deathspell have made could be considered the "ultimate" of anything, aside from perhaps "the ultimate Deathspell album"

Jon chang - gridlink/discordance axis vocalist - wrote this on his gridlink page

"Unless there's a surprise release I am unaware of in the next few weeks, this is it. The unsurpassed album of 2016. Probably my favorite extreme music release since Deathspell Omega's last release, "Drought". Deathspell Omega have consistently produced music that genuinely feels disturbing and eerie to me. The four tracks on this record are literally chaos. I have been listening to it on repeat since I got it, and I am still discovering layers within layers of the guitar work, which is set to a relentless tempo of blast beats. There's no chorus. There's no verse. The dozens of riffs in each song converge and explode into the shrapnel of the next part. This is not music that is accessible in anyway. This is exactly what drew me to extreme music in the first place. It's no secret that I(JC) am picky and records like this are why. It's truly visionary and genuinely uncompromising. It was carefully crafted and every single moment has meaning. Despair has a voice. Highest possible recommendation."

Idk man, I'd say that "The Synarchy of Molten Bones" is probably the ultimate album name.

I know literally what the title means but I'm interested in learning what it actually means in regard to the album, since "Government run by molten bones" is kind of vague in meaning.

What is known about the members of this band? I heard the vocalist and main songwriter is a pretty weird individual.

The vocalist runs a pornographic magazine ("Erotic Perversion"), a pornographic video-series ("Public Obscenities") and incorporates his interest in pornography (particularly taboo/illegal sorts) into his non-metal musical projects....according to archives. Guitarist might own a real estate company

Its worth a 5 based on merit alone, but goddamn do I find this hard to listen to. Thats one thing about this band, I cant listen to them often, even though they're kinda my favorite band ever.

Its like doing a ten-strip of acid ya know? Unforgettable and probably one of the more profound moments of your life, but you're fucked if you're in any hurry to do it again.

thank u mister

while i agree the band aren't exaclty known for dynamic mixes, it amuses me that you put "unforgettable" and "more profound" in the same sentence. I listen to the band quite frequently with no issue but I see how someone could prefer listening to an act like DsO in moderation
