Pass the baby is so damn good.
Does anybody else feel like the title track would've worked better as the first track? It's so grand and has the feeling of an opener.

it would be terrible as an album opener, tbh

I kind of get the same vibe from this LP as I do from American Football's LP2 in that a few songs are really interesting and some/most songs are really eh. Though that'll probably change as I listen to both more.

You With Me is perfection as the opener and as a song in general.

band has straight up never released a poor opener

I actually agreed wholeheartedly with that. Even if the opener isn't amazing, like say Big Casino, it's still a solid song. Even Appreciation off the sucky Damage album was sweet.

Yeah Yeah we know how you feel about Damage haha. You gotta realize why most people, myself included thinks it sucks.

I do really like You With Me. Not sure if it's the best choice for opener but then again I can't think of any song on here that would work better. I see where WhiteNoise is coming from though, I wonder how well it would work to have IB as the first track kicking straight into Sure & Certain after it. Would be a cool opening. But then the album would (in my opinion) be blowing too much of its load in its opening 5 minutes.
In general sometimes I think this album is a bit disjointed and the ordering of tracks is imperfect... but then when I try to think of a better way of ordering it, I struggle. It's just difficult to make an album flow when there's this much variety.

This might be their most consistent album... thoroughly blown away right now. It feels very mature and atmospheric, yet within the more atmospheric sound there's still all the touchstones that make JEW such an incredible band, the most powerful they've been in a while.

Also Sowing, I love how this review is almost a "track-by-track" yet still gives a ton of insight... that's a tough balance to pull off. Really, really well-written!
