considering im an amateur writer and teenager, i wouldnt be surprised that someone who gets PAID to write does a better job than something I do as a hobby/passion project. I did my best to articulate that 13 Voices plays things too safe with the brownsound, borrowing entire leads and elements of older tracks, and not utilizing a 5 member line up (for the most part) for something outstanding. I did say, however, certain songs were pretty good and fun to listen to, which is what makes this album better than Underclass Hero or Screaming Bloody Murder, which took themselves too seriously.

But alas, its too safe and the constant reliance on borrowing already done ideas almost note by note makes it an average record.

nah this really isnt that bad. but there's nothing interesting about it either. though brownsound brings some decent riffs, everything else feels recycled and forced. but i get the appeal especially if youre a loyal fan whos been disappointed by their latest releases

i play guitar and bass, guitar in a band, and bass in my marching band/jazz band/indoor drumline at my school. have played both for 5 years and i also sing in my band.

Out of the 50+ reviews ive written on this site, and to a further extent, countless lists and two entire blogs dedicated to showcasing good music with an upwards of 1000+ albums covered, I have only ever written a total of 8 negative reviews (2.0 or lower). I prefer spending my time covering good music deserving attention, as a review on sites like these are VITAL to getting some artists discovered (see what ive done for Red Giant, Stimming, Ourfathers, and Amigo the Devil) instead of just shitting on bad music.

The only time i write negative reviews are when its an album im anticipating that doesnt hit the mark, or if I just REALLY hate it and need to say something about it. I dont even hate this album, its just... boring.
