i feel like a lot of Brand New's stuff doesn't click with you and that's okay man. you don't have to love everything they have done

it's not cliché if it's the fucken truth. Limousine is a masterpiece. even Brand New haters have to appreciate the song for what it is. it reminds me of a much longer, modern-day version of Radiohead's Exit Music. I can understand if it's not someone's personal favorite, but it's hard to argue that it's not at least one of the best things they've ever written.

Limousine isn't a cliche pick I'd say a cliche pick would be Sic Transit or 70x7

I will love everything they've done. I must. I must achieve ultimate fanboydom. But fr, I just feel that a lot of what isn't exactly my favorite from Brand New has the potential to grow. I didn't like TDAG upon my first 4 -5 listens. Not "not love", but straight up not really like. I guess that's why I feel that everything has potential to grow.

exit music is dogshit. not even sure how you got there since limousine has like 4 completely different movements. that guitar solo is absolutely nuts, prob the coolest thing he's ever done

Despite it not living up to the hype for me, the writing for Limousine is stunning.

Jesus is most cliche

I'd say Millstone is that album's most cliche moment honestly
or maybe it's on par with Jesus, but it's way less strong
which is to say it's a solid 4.5 on its own and a 5 in context lol

I mean most cliche favorite song. But actually probably most cliche song on the album as well. Still amazing though.

Even on a thread for Daisy, we can't stop talking about TDAG

"exit music is dogshit."
you're fucking nuts. that song is literally perfect.

Ugh what? Agreed about Limousine being more clearly composite (and that guitar solo is pretty great), but Exit Music is an astounding song that sounds every bit as fresh today as it did when it was released, and is probably a slightly better track.

It's ok

"Even on a thread for Daisy, we can't stop talking about TDAG"
Which is sad, because Daisy is a much, much, much cooler album. Can we all fangirl over how great You Stole is as a non-epic?

wtf do you all see in that song? it's one of radiohead's most boring songs. some acoustic guitar playing with thom sounding more monotonous than he ever has. the climax is the only great moment and it's not even one of their strongest climaxes

Daisy is sick. I love it's explosive songs but there's a couple on here that just don't click as much for me (Bed, Be Gone esp.)

You Stole is easily one of the best songs off the album and one of Brand New's best songs in general.

I disagree with Daisy being much cooler, though. I can see where someone could feel that way, but I prefer TDAG's more reserved atmosphere, in comparison to Daisy's more in your face one.

The entire song is a case-in-point of dynamic range explored perfectly. The start bit is fantastically understated and dejected, and the way it builds momentum is just perfect. They do have stronger climaxes (Jigsaw Falling Into Place) but it's possibly their best build.
I really like Bed; that understated, lethargic style suits Brand New surprisingly well (probably because they usually sound so contrived)
