This is at the least better than Kid A

How about no

lol hell. fucking. no. this sounds like generic alt rock compared to kid a, which, despite being way more experimental, is way catchier than anything on here. i don't dislike this album. it's enjoyable to throw on in the background, but i can't think of many memorable moments.

identikit, burn the witch, desert island, decks dark, the numbers... how do these songs go again? i've heard them each like 5 times but they're so unmemorable

identikit is their least memorable song since the tourist

Burn the Witch if anything is the biggest standout on this thing

Yeah it's in the top half for me.
I totally understand why this wouldn't be everyone's favorite album, because imo it seems crafted for a specific type of person. The way everything is dream-like and reverby with lots of repeat effects like the vocals in Present Tense gets very close to how my mind deals with sound, making this a very personal experience for me. This album best mirrors the way I experience the world, sensory-wise and emotionally, of the band's discography, so it's kind of hard for me not to love it.

Sometimes when I listen to this I think that these guys are getting better. Sometimes I think they're just as good as before. I'll have my answer the next time they make an album.
