This is extremely tight and the atmosphere impeccably executed but I'm finding that over the course of the album I start wishing they took more risks and were a bit more ambitious at times with structure and instrumentation.

I was expecting more post-rock and less Thrice but I guess it was the other way round. Production is insane, and the songs are there, but can't pass on the singer. Even if he is really good and variated, his voice sounds very generic to me.

Aw, man. I think his vocals are pretty unique. He's not afraid to do weird shit and it always works out. Anyway, saw them last night and it wasn't their best performance. They looked worn out and the singer was a little off, which is the opposite of my other experiences with them. Still, got to meet them, had them sign my vinyl copy of this.

Yeah, like I said, he is pretty good but his tone kind of sounds familiar. I will give it more listens, the album itself is worth it.
