I usually use average ratings to see if an album is worth checking out or not...anything under a 3 I'm usually weary but I judge the album itself based on how I like it. Also I enjoy the whole idea of ranking albums like seeing what most people consider a band's "best" album to be

I thought this was great on first listen and it's only grown on me since. Could be my AOTY. I understand what people are saying, it's definitely mellow and a little samey at first, but I've found it rewards with repeat listens.
"Indica" is musically pretty dull, "Weave" is kinda forgettable, and "Coda" is just there. Every other track is outstanding. Regardless of the change in style, this feels much more fulfilling to listen to than The Albatross does.

'Typical sputnik, everyone jumps on emo/alternative bandwagon once again.
There is a reason this site has turned to shit, bandwagoning is a major part.'
Uhhh.... what? I'm unaware of this bandwagon of which you speak.

yeah i never understand all the hype that this site gave to the wonder years or the story so far for that matter
i mean they're both good bands but in contrast to other pop punk bands out there they are way too hyped

I hate how this average has plummeted since Fantano's review. Also, I don't understand The Wonder Years' praise on here either. Sure their music is good, but it's nothing to write home about, and it's not like it's lyrically smart either. Mayday's old stuff is just as intriguing in that regard.

Same. Still one of my favorite (if not my favorite) album this year..
Never heard much Story So Far, but I'll look into it. I've just kinda shrugged away because some friends from high school share their songs sometimes, but they're also ones who still listen to Attack Attack and Asking Alexandria

The Story So Far I'm not a big fan of...they're like an uninspired version of TWY

I already stopped listening to this. I think 3 might be a bit generous. I dunno, it's pretty but nothing else for me.

Redwoods almost has an Anberlin cities era vibe to it. So good.
If anything, this has been my most listened to album recently. I can't get over it. So earthy. So beautiful.
